Easy Way To Cook Lasagna Noodles

Necessity is the mother of invention so I’ve heard, and I wanted to come up with an easy way to cook lasagna noodles.

I prefer lasagna noodles you cook rather than the “oven ready” kind.  Problem – I do not have a pot big enough to cook them without breaking them into uneven pieces.  I do not make lasagna often enough to invest in more cookware I will have to find room to store I my cabinets. And cooking lasagna noodles can be a bit of a mess, especially keeping them in one piece.

I placed the uncooked lasagna noodles in my broiler pan and layered them until the whole box (enough for one pan of  lasagna) was layered in the pan. Next I poured just enough water in the pan to cover all the noodles.  I preheated the oven to 250 degrees and let them cook for about 3 0 minutes.  Cooking  time depends on your oven and how  much you want to cook them.  I prefer noodles that are a little more firm rather than too soft.

Don’t forget , the noodles will continue to cook a bit when you bake your  lasagna.  Nothing ruins a pasta dish more than mushy, overlooked noodles.  Now while the noodles are cooking, brown the meat and get the ricotta cheese mixture ready.
